Story

He started his career by writing some advert articles for his father shoe's company.
He entered the show-business when the MGM hired him to participate to the scripts writings.
During this period, 1930s and 1940s, he wrote the scripts of several short films.

After his National Service in the US Signal Corps, he went back to Hollywood and became producer at the Columbia Pictures, where he overlooked several projects incuding "The Dark Past" (1948), "No Sad Songs For

Me" (1950) and "From Here to Eternity" (Best Film Award in 1953 ;).
Many of his movies had been successful such as "Love is a Many Splendor Thing" (1955), "Anastasia" (1956) and "South Pacific" (1958), but he alos produced "A Hatful of Rain" (1957).

In 1956 he became the head of the production at Fox, replacing Darryl Zanuck at the head of the studio.
He will remained there until his death in 1960.

On May 17, 1940 he married the actress Anita Louise (January 9, 1915, New York-April 25, 1970, Los Angeles)

They had 2 children, Melanie Honey (born on August 9, 1947, Los Angeles)() and Anthony Aaron (born on March 29, 1950, Los Angeles).

On December 31, 1948, he attended the New Year's Eve at producer Sam Spiegel's house .
