George Francis Nardiello (January 28, 1922, New York-December 10, 2005, Palm Springs, California)

His father was the doctor for the New York State Boxing Commission. George served in Europe during WWII.
In 1948 he graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York. He was among the winners of the prestigious Chicago Tribune "American Fashion Competition Award".

He became a famous designer with his cocktail and evening gowns (,

). He travelled 4 times a year in Europe to find inspiration. He never had his own label but

worked for Anthony Blotta, Kiki Hart, Cameo and Rona ().

In 1954 he married the Italian contessa Marisa Pompei de Lassi, with who he had a daughter Mia. They divorced in 1973.

In 1955 he was introduced to Marilyn by Milton Greene (,); he was in charge to create 

her a "New Look" (,).

He worked for many actresses as Marlene Dietrich, Mitzi Gaynor, Rosalind Russell and Jayne Mansfield.

Realizing people didn't want glamour anymore, he settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1985, then in Palm Springs in 2002 until his death.
