The preliminary report from the County Coroner services, dated and signed by Noguchi at 10.30 AM Saunday morning, is in the file n° 81123 at the morgue of the Los Angeles County.
The first annex (Report of chemical analysis of blood and liver) is dated and signed by R.J.Abernethy, Head Toxicologist, on August 13, 1962, at 8.00 AM (file n0 81128-1).
On August 10, 1962, Curphey declares, in his premliminary estimation, that the death could have been caused by an "overdose of barbiturates".
On August 17, 1962, he talks about "probable suicide".
The report of the medical examiner from August 18, 1962
declared : "My conclusion is that Marilyn's death has been caused by a
self-administration of sedative drugs and that it is a "probable
suicide"" :
On August 27, 1962 : in his last estimation, he concludes to "an acute barbiturate poisining, ingestion of overdose". He based his results on the chemical analysis which seemed perfectly clear :
The official conclusion of the head toxicologist researches, R.J.Abernethy, about the source of Marilyn's death was : "an acute barbiturate poisining, ingestion of overdose"
