At the end of her life, this famous actress of the British stage came
to Hollywood to play parts of extravagant old lady, notably in
"Anna Larenine" (1935), "Littel Lord Fauntleroy" (1936), "Stage Door"
(1937), "Kitty" (1945), "An Ideal Husband" (1947), "The Rope" (1948) of
Alfred Hitchcock.
She was friend with George Cukor.
After 1950, she gave some drama lessons and during the 5 years prior to her death, she worked not only with Marilyn but also with Katharine Hepburn, Audrey
Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Vivien Leigh.
She was the first drama teacher with who Marilyn worked when she arrived in New York City, before working with Lee Strasberg.
If she hadn't die, Marilyn may never have taken courses at the Actors Studio.
