Story

He began his career in 1929 in "Marianne".

His most famous movie was "The Dancing Pirate".

His wife was Lucille Ryman, famous talent snooper at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer.

They were known for helping the young actresses to overcome the difficult moments.

Link with Marilyn :

The first time they met Norma Jeane was in August 1947, at the occasion of the famous annual golf tournament of the Cheviot Hills Country Club (Motor Avenue, Rancho Park; face to the Fox).

Some celebrities took part in and, in order to enliven the atmosphere, the organizers used some caddies, some attractive starlets supposed to carry the clubs and the bags of Henry Fonda (),James Stewart, John Wayne, Tyrone Power, and otehr movie stars.

Two weeks before the expiration of her contract with the Fox, Marilyn was sent there, among others, with the Twentieth Century Fox compliments.

On the spot, she was assigned to John Carroll, well-known actor and singer. He was aged 42 and looked attractive which often was worth to be compared to Clark Gable or George Brent.

On December 4, 1947, he signed a manager contract with her (), which was voluntarily terminated later.

1949 : with his wife, they housed Norma Jeane in their apartment; at that time, she didn't have any contract and was in difficulty.
They looked after her for 5 months : they gave her 100$ a week and introduced her to their very impressive friends circle, in Los Angeles and in their ranch at Granada Hills. After 5 months, she met Johnny Hyde.

Their last benefit helped to pay the last bills of Marilyn's Convertible car.

She thanked them for their kindness by giving them her fee from "Love Happy" (1950).
