DOUGHERTY (Famiy)

 

Jim Dougherty's father : Edward.

 

The mother : Ethel Mary.

 

Ethel played an important part in the wedding plan between Norma Jeane and her son, arranged by Grace McKee; she worked a a nurse at the Radio Plane Munitions Factory in Burbank; she taught Norma Jeane driving and found her a job at the Radio Plane Munitions Factory (1944); when Jim was in Asia (1944), Norma Jeane moved in at Ethel's home, 5254 Hermitage Street (now Avenue), North Hollywood, until 1945.

They had 4 children : 3 boys, Jim and Tom who already lived with them, Marion who was married, and a girl, Billie, married at that time (1941).

Jim's sister : Billie Dougherty Campbell. Her son Wayne would carry the wedding rings during the weddingof Norma Jeane and Jim.

In 1952, she published, under the name of Elyda Nelson, an rticle about Marilyn in Modern Screen.

Jim's elder brother, Marion, was his best man during his wedding with Norma Jeane in 1942 :
