DARBY Ken

Born Kenneth Lorin Darby.

Date of birth : May 13th 1909, Hebron, Nebraska.

Date of death : January 24th 1992, Sherman Oaks, California.

Portrait :

Practise : composer, singing and elocution teacher.

 

Story:

He worked with Marilyn as elocution and singing teacher on the shootings of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953), "River of No Return" (1954), "There's No Business Like Show Business" (1954), "Bus Stop" (1956).

His long career in composing and musical arrangements set for the most part at the Fox Studios.

He was several times nominated for the Academy Awards, notably for "Bus Stop", and received the Award for "The King and I" (1956), "Porgu and Bess" (1959) and "Camelot" (1967).
