Bruce Landon Davidson.
Date of birth : September 5, 1933, Oak Park, Illinois.
Place of living New York.
Story
After an apprenticeship of photographer, he studied photogtraphy at the Rochester Institute of Technology (New York), at the beginning of the 50's, as well as painting, philosophy and photography at the Yale University with Herbert Matter, Alexei Brodovitch and Josef Albers in 1955.
Member of the Magnum Agency since 1958, he also taught in the most various institutions.
He became attached to topics closed to reality. He took pictures of drug-addicts and offenders, as well as some street scenes or demonstrations. It was with a big interest that he followed the transformation of America at the end of the 50's - beginning of the 60's. He showed a special interest for groupings like the beatniks, the hippies precursors, and their non-conventional opinions for the suburbs and other topics of this era.Link with
