They rented the house to Lord Norths, director of the Financial Times, and to his wife, the actress Joan Carr.

It was a mansion from the 18th Century with 5 bedrooms, with oak beams (,,), surrounded by a park of 4 acres and a rose garden.

Before their arrival,Milton Greene made one of the bedrooms repainted in whote for Marilyn, and made sure that the windows had thick curtains to guarantee her a beauty sleep.

In such pure British tradition, the reporters surrounded the gate of the property during all their stay.
