Story

His parents Nilson Engstead (September 22, 1868, Sweden-February 10, 1938, Los Angeles)() and Vivian Maude Griggs (August 9, 1877, Illinois-October 21, 1959, Los Angeles) married on January 14, 1904, Chicago, Illinois.

They had 2 children Helen Marjorie  (February 19, 1906, Illinois-2001, Los Angeles) and John.

His career began at the publicity department of the Paramount, where, with no permission, he had a photo session with Jean Harlow; his pictures had a huge success.

 
In 1929, he became pictures supervisor at the Paramount, dealing more particularly with portraits.

He became independant in 1941.
