Story

Daughter of  Doc Goddard (born from his father's first wedding with Eleanor Barbara Roeck (born in 1906).

Her childhood was disturbed : her parents divorced when she was hardly 18 months old, her mother became insane  (according to Bebe : sociopath, with no conscience of good and bad), then she was forced to look after her young brother and sister (John Frederick June 4, 1928, Austin, Texas - January 10, 1983, Los Angeles; Nona Josephine October 19, 1930, Fort Worth, Texas - July 10, 1986, Ojai, California), while going from one foster family to another through the whole state of Texas.

Since 1939, after Norma Jeane came out of the orphanage and her arrival at her guardian's home, Grace McKee Goddard, they shared the same room and became friends.

Their friendship ended in 1942 when the Goddards left to Virginia and Norma Jeane married Jim Dougherty.

In 1945, when Doc and Grace Goddard went back to California, Bebe stayed in Huntington to finish her studies 

.

Graduated from Huntington High School in Spring 1945, she worked at the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, and stayed 6 years in Virginia.

 

Until 1955 they remained in contact occasionally, then Marilyn left California to New York.
