Occupation

Author of 2 biographies about Marilyn which, for long, were authoritative (Guiles had agreed with the probable suicide verdict).

The second one gives new informations about Marilyn relationship with the Kennedys.

Guiles was present in Reno, on the set of  "The Misfits" in Fall 1960.

He had discovered that the crew was shooting not far from where he was, had got to know Frank Taylor, the movie producer and Ralph Roberts, Marilyn's masseur.

In 1963, deeply shattered by Marilyn's death, he wrote a scenario entitled "Good bye Norma Jeane" which would be a filmed biography of Marilyn.

Frank Taylor showed the screenplay to Pat Newcomb, who at that time, assisted Robert Kennedy in the preparation, for the US Information Agency, of the cinematic eulogy of John Kennedy, "Years Of Lightening-days of Drums".

Thanks to Pat Newcomb's support and help, "Good Bye Norma Jeane" was developed in a serie of illustrated articles published in the famous weekly feminine The ladie's home journal magazine, in 1967, under the title of "Marilyn's Last Summer".

Pat Newcomb thought that Marilyn's relation with the Kennedys would be out of question, but Guiles discreetly talked about a lawyer and a statesman.

Pat Newcomb had just enrolled Barbra Streisand and Warren Beatty and every of her relations in Hollywood to support Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign. She was so irritated by Guiles's declarations that she didn't talk to him anymore.

Guiles series of articles was published in 1969 in the form of a book, entitled "Norma Jeane : The Life of Marilyn Monroe".

He has also written the biographies of Tyrone Power, Stan Laurel, Marion Davies, Jane Fonda, Andy Warhol and Joan Crawford.
