Marilyn met him on September 19th 1959 when he visited the Fox studios, during his trip through the USA :

When they were introduced to each other, he shook hands with her and, through a translator, told her that she was a really pretty woman.

After having greeted him in Russian (Natalie Wood had learned it to her), she expressed her wishes for the peace in the world and best relations with the USA. She also passed her husband's greetings on, Arthur Miller.
