Father of Arthur Miller.
His parents Samuel Miller (1859, Austria-May 12, 1934, New York) and Dora Keil (1862, Austria-November 30, 1951, New York) emigrated to the USA in 1888.
On December 31, 1910, he married Augusta Barnett in New York.
They had 3 children : Kermit (October 5, 1912, New York-October 17, 2003, Connecticut), Arthur and Joan (bor on June 1st, 1922, New York).
His father was a clothes manufacturer ("S.Miller and Sons") in the Lower East Side, New York City.
He was also a prosperous clothes manufacturer (his company was named "Miltex Coat and Suit Company") but he was ruined by the Crisis in 1929.
Isadore first didn't approve, Arthur's wish to write; actually, he simply didn't understand him.

Marilyn immediately got along with Arthur's parents. They often visited Arthur and Marilyn in their apartment of East 57th Street. Marilyn cooked for Isadore and spoiled him when he didn't feel well - a luxuary she hadn't be able to allow to her own father.
