After having moved in New York in the middle of the 50's, she regularly met Shaw and his wife. It was him who introduced Marilyn to the Rostens.
It was also him who, after having visited Marilyn
at the hospital at the end of Summer 1957, advised Arthur
Miller to make a movie based on his short story "The Misfits",
specially for Marilyn. He convinced Miller that it would be an ideal
way to prove that Marilyn was a talented drama actress. Since then,
Miller had always refused to write screenplays.
