Story:
He met Arthur Miller at the time when Mary Grace Slattery, Miller's first wife, was his secretary in the New York publishing firm, Reynal et Hitchcock.
In 1948, he temporarily left the edition circle to produce movies at the MGM, with Dore Schary. He went back to edition in New York, in 1952.
Sometimes, 2 of their sons, Mike and Curtis, stayed at Miller's home; it happened when Arthur's children, Jane and Robert were also present.
Few years earlier, he had worked for a while in Hollywood and had produced "Mystery Street" (1950).
So he was in charge of the production of "The Misfits".
On July 20, 1960, he was present when Marilyn arrived in Reno, for the shooting of "The Misfits" :
During the shooting, he was in an uncomfortable situation : he had to
prevent the production from going down the drain, despite theinternecine quarrels in which the shooting dragged on.
