WALD Jerry
Date of birth : September 16th 1911, Brooklyn, New York City.
Date of death : July 13th 1962, Beverly Hills, California.
Practise : screenwriter, then producer.
Story
He started his movie career in the 30's as screenwriter. He then became screenwriter-producer, before exclusively devoting to production during the last part of his career.
During a lunch organized by Sidney Skolsky, Marilyn impressed him enough to get the greatest part of her young career in "Clash by Night" (1952). She came to the lunch wearing a low-cut corsage with a red rose in and capri pants.

When the whole world heard about the nude calendar for which Marilyn
had posed, it was Wald who (according to the most spread version)
revealed the information to bring an additional publicity to "Clash by Night".
In 1959 he worked at the Fox. He offered a part to Marilyn in "The Story on Page One", a drama written and directed by Clifford Odets.
Marilyn having refused, he suggested her another project, "Let's Make Love" (1960), she shot under George Cukor's direction.

Later, he tried, without success, to arouse the star interest for another shooting, "The stripper" (1963), who had to be his last movie.
Among his other productions : "Milfred Pierce" (1945), "Johnny Belinda" (1948), "Peyton Place" (1957) and "Sons and Lovers" (1960).
