Story
Her career took up more than 5 decades.
She received an Academy Award for "the Diary of Anne Frank" (1959) and "A Place in the Sun (1951); she played in TV movies and performed on stage.
Her long movie career includes more than 100 movies, among them "Othello" (1948),"The Night of the Hunter", "A Patch of Blue" (1965), "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972).
With Marilyn they became friends (according to Shelley) at the end of the 40's, and shared an apartment on Holloway Drive, Hollywood, in 1951 :
As one of the first member of the Actors Studio, she was one of the first to recommend Lee Strasberg to Marilyn.
She would have attended the lessons at the Actors Lab, when Marilyn arrived there in 1947.
