Story
His parents Eugene Abraham (born in February 1868, Orenburg, Russia) and Annie Smitkin (1874, Russia-November 20, 1968, Montréal) married in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 10, 1906
They emigrated in England at the end of the 19th Century, and settled in Canada en 1909, and first lived in Winnipeg then in Montreal.
They had 8 children

In 1924, he started as an apprentice stylist at the McAlpin Hotel in New York. He then worked at Antoine de
Paris' prestigious salon in Manhattan
where he was discovered by Claudette Colbert in 1928 ().
Then it was Louise Brooks turn, for who he created the famous
shingled haircut.
He then had his own salon at Bonwit Teller.
