1929-1930 : Hawthorn Community Sunday School  (334 Acacia Avenue, Hawthorn) : she attended this school before going to the kindergarten.

September 1931-June 1932 : Ballona Elementary and Kindergarten

(renamed Washington Elementary School)

4339 West 129th Street, Hawthorn, then after the earthquake of March 10th 1933, 306 East El Segundo Boulevard, Hawthorn.

On September 14, 1931 was her first back to school; at that time, she lived at the Bolenders. She went to school with Lester, Bolender's adopted child.

(renamed Vine Street Elementary School)

1st grade.

She lived with the Bolenders, until 1933, when Gladys took her back.

 

September 1933-June 1935 : Selma Street School

(renamed Selma Ave Elementary School)

2nd et 3rd grade.

During this unique year she lived with her mother.

 

September 1935- June 1937 : Vine Street School

4th, 5th grade.

 

September 1937-June 1938 : Lankershim School ;

(renamed Lankershim Elementary)

5250 Bakman Ave, North Hollywood.

6th grade.

She was 11 years old and won 2 gold medals on jumping and running; she lived with Ida Martin.

 

September 1938-June 1939 : Sawtelle Boulevard School ,,   

(renamed Nora Sterry School in 1941)

7th grade.

She lived with Ana Lower; she belonged to the security crew of the school.

 

Septembre 1939-June 1941 : Emerson Junior High School.
