Story

In 1933 he married Sybil Morris ().

He was the main agent, with Roy Craft (from the Publicity Department of the Fox Studios) who ran Marilyn promotional campaign.

When Marilyn's legend was mistreated by the calendar scandal, he didn't panic, contrary to the studio manager. During the crisis meeting he said : "It won't kill her, it will raise her".

 

At the Golden Age of the Fox, the publicity head had a considerable power : he could decide when and how the news had to be presented by the public.
