Story
Built in 1956 (
) by Norman Blitz, he wanted to make it the only hotel without any casino or
gaming room (
). But it didn't last long. In July 1957, the hotel was bought by Newton
Crumley and associates, who immediately added a casino (
). The owners changed throughout the years, before closing in 1988. It reopened in 2001 under the name of the Siena Hotel Spa Casino.
Sold in 2017, it was remodeled and reopened in April 2017 under the name of the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel, belonging to the Marriott chain.
