Love Nest (1951)
When Marilyn signed her new contract with the Fox, the studio intended to make her play a sexy blonde part.
"Love Nest", a light comedy, was custom-written. It was the 11th movie of a short career mainly constituted of small parts.
Marilyn's presence, purely decorative, made a lot of buzz.
Reporter Sidney Skolsky wrote that, when Marilyn undressed to take a shower, there was such a silence that nobody could hear a pin drop.

SYNOPSIS
After the end of the war, Jim Scott (William Lundigan) comes back to New York City, where he joins his wife, Connie (June Haver). They move in an old building she has bought during his absence.
The building, partly rented, provides them an income, but creates endless problems which prevent him from achieving his writer vocation.
Marilyn plays Roberta, a former Army feminine helper and friend of Jim during the war. She also moves in the building and arouses Connie's suspicion, who shows herself jealous of her.
The story turns around the 2 other tenants, Charley Patterson (Frank Fay) and Eadie Gaynor (Leatrice Joy), who get married. Charley lends some money to Jim to maintain the building.
Trying to know from where Charley's sums come from, Jim and Connie realize that he steals rich widows. He is arrested. Eadie defends her husband so well that Jim Scott - who has accepted the money - also go to jail. There, he writes his memories which are published when he comes out and brings him enough money to renovate the building.
When Charley comes out, he is redeemed by Eadie's love and becomes the father of twins.
