Story

Marilyn's mother, Gladys Baker worked there as film editor in 1927.

From her bedroom window at the orphanage of Los Angeles where she lived for near 2 years, Norma Jeane could see the RKO letters on the water tower of the Radio Pictures Studio.

Just before Christmas 1936, she belonged to the small orphans who visited the studios. The RKO showed a movie and offered them some gifts (a junk jewelry string of pearls).

In 1949 Marilyn shot there "Love Happy" of the Marx Brothers.

End of 1951 she came back for "Clash by Night" of Jerry Wald.

The RKO was for decades, one of the 5 main Hollywood production companies; it stopped to produce in 1953, after Howard Hughes had took the control of the studios. The former places of the RKO were taken later by the Paramount.
