Born Laszlo Josef Willlinger, renamed Lawrence Joseph Willinger ().

Date of birth : April 16, 1909, Budapest, Hungary.

Date of death : August 8, 1989, Los Angeles, California.

Story

He learned photography through his mother who was a well-known professional photographer.

 
He opened a studio in Paris, then in Berlin, where for several years he took pictures of Marlene Dietrich, Hedy Lamarr and Sigmund Freud.

He arrived in the USA in 1937, and later succeeded George Hurrell, leading the MGM pictures studio. 

He worked for 40 years with FPG, a photo agency in New York City.
