Norma Jeane spent a part of this year at Ervin and Grace Goddard's home, 6707 Odessa Avenue, Van Nuys
().
In November, Grace placed the girl at Ida Martin's, in Lankershim, in the San Fernando Valley.
Ida was Olyve Brunnings' mother. Olyve had married Marion Monroe (), Gladys' brother
and Norma Jeane's uncle. Ida Martin took care of her grand-children while Olyve worked as a worker for wandering farmers.
Her husband Marion had disappeared one day in November 1929, he never appeared again.
He would be declared officially dead in 1939.
When she arrived, the 11 years old Norma Jeane met her cousins for the
first time : Olive aged 8, Ida Mae aged 10 and Jack aged 12.
She remained there until August 1938.
