His parents Harry (July 4, 1885 or July 17, 1888, Bessarabia, Russia-February 20, 1945)

*Robert L. (October 24, 1919, Russia-May 1st, 2009, New York)

*Edward H

*Frederick A (born September 19, 1938).

Ed studied art at the Manhattan's Haaren High School de Manhattan and photography at the New School of Social Research with Alexey Brodovitch. He worked as a photoreporter for the Pix Publishing agency.

He covered the Korean war (1950-1953).

He suffered from depression and gave photography up after the end of his brief marriage with Miriam R. Sakol

(born January 9, 1933) in 1957 ().

He died from the physical and psychological consequences of the alcoholism he suffered of.
