Graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago in 1930. He was licensed in California in 1937.
On March 11,935 he married Esther Marie Jorgensen (born on June 29, 1906, Wisconsin-August 7, 1980, Los Angeles), in Illinois.
They had 2 sons Harry Leon (July 29, 1937, Los Angeles-April 15, 2007, San Diego) and Dan Alan (born on May 2, 1939, Los Angeles).
He was assisted by Dr Marcus Rabwin, during Marilyn's appendix surgery on April 28, 1952, at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, Los Angeles.
From then on, she consulted him for her fertility problems. She made friend with him and used to contact him when she needed advices, for medical and personal reasons.
She did it in October 1954, when her wedding with Joe DiMaggio began to fail. He helped her to face a situation exacerbated by the hundred of reporters gathered in front of her house. Some versions say that Joe didn't leave the house to go to San Francisco, but went to hide in Dr Krohn's house.
After her leaving to New York, she found another gynecologist but kept seeing Leon Krohn during her returns to Los Angeles. He was his friend as long as her doctor and accompanied her on the set of "Some Like It Hot".
On November 7, 1954, he performed a surgery to treat her chronic endometriosis at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital.
He performed another surgery for the same reasons in May 1961.
Krohn stepped in several times to deny the rumors pretending that Marilyn had had an abortion : "She never had had an abortion. She had 2 miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy which needed an urgent surgery, but no abortion". He also warned her about the dangers of her drugs dependency : "She often told me she wanted above all a child, but I told her that she would kill the baby with all her pills and alcohol. I told her that the addition of all the drugs couldn't let to know at which moment the glass too much would caused a miscarriage".
