Story 

Built in 1857 as the German Dispensary (,). On the actual site since 1869 

().

In 1887 the German Hospital and Dispensary treated 28 000 patients per year, most of them from the local Little Germany neigbourhood.

The dispensary was sold in 1906 to the German Polykilinik, itself founded in 1883.

In July 1918 it was renamed Lenox Hill Hospital (). 

n 1939 it treated more than 53 000 patients.

It's ranked among the best hospitals in the USA.

Link with Marilyn

On June 22, 1959 Marilyn entered this hospital for a new endometritium surgery (on 23) was done by Dr Mortimer Rodgers.
