There are 2 versions of the meeting with Marilyn :

          - he orchestrated a higher bid between Howard Hughes and Ben Lyon, one of the heads of the Fox. He said having taking part in Norma Jeane pseudonym's choice.

          - Emmeline Snively, manager of the Blue Book Modeling Agency, would have called Lipton's immediate superior, who would have introduced the starlet to Lipton (favorite version of Fred Lawrence Guiles).

 
Marilyn signed her first contract with the  Fox on July 23, 1946.

With him, she spent a year at the Fox, 6 months at the Columbia.

On January 10, 1947 she left the National Artists Corporation and entered the Elsie Cukor-Lipton's agency 

where he worked too .
