STEINEM Gloria

Date of birth : March 25, 1934, Toledo, Ohio.

Portrait ,,,

Story

Great figure of the feminist movement and political writer since 1960; in 1971 she founded Ms magazine; since, she has become one of the most famous feminist actress in the USA.

She also took lessons at the Actors Studio, in 1955.

In 1986, she gave her feminist point of view to the whole verbiage surrounding Marilyn. One of her point of view is that Marilyn's death has changed her vulnerability (with which, in her lifetime, she had disgraced her sex) into tragedy :  "She personified many of the men secret hopes and many of the women secret fears".

She is convinced that Marilyn's father was really Stanley Gifford, and that he left Gladys Baker at Christmas Eve 1925, when she announced him that she was pregnant.

She thinks that one of Marilyn's life recurrent subject was her guilt about the idea of losing or killing the father figure. Her guilt feeling was exacerbated by the public comments : the Hollywood gossips after Johnny Hyde's death and the articles of the reporters after Clark Gable's one.
