JANUARY

Friday, January 10, she informed the National Concert Artists Corporation they didn't represent her anymore. 

 

Her new representative agent was then the Elsie Cukor-Harry Lipton Agency ().

Thursday, January 30, Harry Brand (), publicist at the Fox, published an article in the Los Angeles

Times
, "The Baby Sitter Shows Up in Movie" (,,,).
He concocted a sweetened biography of Marilyn, presenting her officially as an orphan.



FEBRUARY

Thursday, February 6, the Fox was informed about her agent's modification ().

Her contract was extended for 6 months. She posed for publicity pictures for the studio

(,,,).

She took part of the casting for the movie "Carnaval" but she wasn't selected. Instead she was hired for the movie "Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hey!".

The studio sent her for having some drama lessons at the Actors Laboratory (Actors Lab).

She also attended lessons with Helena Sorrell, drama teacher at the Fox (,,

,).

MARCH

In March the production of "Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hey!" started, filmed in Technicolor, under the direction of

F.Hugh Herbert (,). Marilyn shot 2 scenes, one in a canoe but was finally

cut (,,), the other one where she furtively appeared behind the main part.



APRIL
In April she had a photo session with the photographer Nat Dallinger ().

Tuesday, April 12 she represented the 20th Century Fox among other starlets, during the Honorary Colonels

Night (,).




She took part in a publicity photo session at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas (,

).

JUNE

Wednesday, June 25 she took part to the "8 Ball Welfare Foundation", founded by the Los Angeles Press Club

(,).

Monday, June 30 she started the production of "Dangerous Years"  (,,

) in which she played 3 short scenes. She was "loaned" by the Fox to the Sol Wurtzel Productions

and was payed $125 for a week of work ().



JULY

During the summer she looked after a house of a couple in holidays, located au 131 South Avon Street, Burbank.

Sunday, July 20 she took part as a starlet, at the 20th Century-Fox annual golf tournament at the California

Club Golf (,).

Saturday, July 26 the Fox informed her that her contract wasn't extended.



AUGUST

Sunday, August 3 she attended the golf tournament "Frank Borzage Motion Picture Golf Tournament" at the

California Country Club (,,).

Many personnalities attended (,,) and to cheer the ambience up, starlets were used as caddies to those men. She was assigned to John Carroll, husband of Lucille Ryman, talent scout at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

They decided to help her and put her up in their apartement in El Palacio (,

).


SEPTEMBER
She continued her courses at the Actors Lab and kept on posing for publicities (,,

).

OCTOBER

Lucille Ryman connected her with the owners of the Blyss-Hayden Miniature Theater. She got a part in

"Glamour Preferred", a musical ().

The premiere took place on Sunday, October 12. There was very few reactions in the local press, and it was played until Sunday, November 2.



DECEMBER

Thursday, December 4, she signed a contract so that John Carroll would represent her : he agreed to pay her $100 a week, and 10% of the takings to her regular agent Harry Lipton. The contract covered the period

from December 1, 1947 to February 29, 1948 ().

Sunday, December 7 release of "Dangerous Years" ().

She took part of the "Alan Young Radio Show" which theme was Scotland ().
