Tides Motor Inn

 

Charles E. Redington a real estate developer and investor bought the land in 1936 and built the Tides Hotel and

Bath Club in St Petersburg, Florida ,.

The hotel was completed in 1940. It included a main hotel, cottages, a motor inn and apartments.
2 swimming-pools, a ballroom, 2 dining-rooms and a dinner theater.

In March 1961 Marilyn stayed there with Joe DiMaggio, in 2 separated rooms; he took her there after her hospitalizations at the Payne Whitney Hospital and the Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital.
