Story
He got his Bachelor's Degree in 1938 from Hamilton College.
In 1940 he worked at Arper & Brothers editions.
From 1941 to 1947 he worked the New York editor Reynal & Hitchcock, then became editor in chief.
From 1952 to 1961 he was editor in chief at Dells Books.
From 1963 to 1965 he worked at Avon Books.
From 1965 to 1970 he was editor in chief at McGraw Hill.
From 1970 to 1973 he published The Patent Trader, a Westchester county newspaper, then had his own publishing imprint, Frank E.Taylor Books.
He met Arthur Miller at the time when Mary Grace Slattery, Miller's first wife, was his secretary in the New York publishing firm, Reynal et Hitchcock.
In 1948, he temporarily left the edition circle to produce movies at the MGM, with Dore Schary. He went back to edition in New York, in 1952.
He married Nancy, "Nan" (April 21, 1916, Minnesota-July 3, 2010, Connecticut)(). They had 4 sons,
Michael "Mike", Curtice (born February 12, 1947), Mark and Adams (,).
They divorced in 1975.
Sometimes, 2 of their sons, Mike and Curtis, stayed at Miller's home; it happened when Arthur's children, Jane and Robert were also present.
Few years earlier, he had worked for a while in Hollywood and had produced "Mystery Street" (1950).
So he was in charge of the production of "The Misfits".
On July 20, 1960, he was present when Marilyn arrived in Reno, for the production of "The Misfits"
During the shooting, he was in an uncomfortable situation : he had to
prevent the production from going down the drain, despite the internecine quarrels in which the shooting dragged on.
