Friday, April 25, she received Walter Mirisch, the film producer, in order to talk about the screenplay

The Fox had officially agreed for the production that would start between July 15 and August 1. Marilyn would work for about 6 weeks.

Wednesday, May 21, Arthur Miller received the Gold Medal from the National Institute of Arts and Letters during the annual ceremony, which took place at the Academy Auditorium.

The Gold Medal was awarded every 5 years, and was a great literary distinction for Arthur

Tuesday, May 27, picture session with Richard Avedon where she played the 20th Century greatest

sex-symbols (,,,,). Those pictures

Week-end of July 5 and 6, Arthur invited his editor Frank Taylor () in Roxbury, to

Wednesday, November 26, she answered to George Auric (
) from the "Académie du cinéma français" who had invited her to receive the Crystal Star Award in France; it rewarded her as the "Best Foreign Actress" for her part in "The Prince and the Showgirl". She couldn't travel because of her delicate pregnancy and the award would be given to her on February 26, 1959, at the French Film Institute in New York City.



DECEMBER


Tuesday, December 16 Marilyn lost her child after a 3 months pregnancy. She was hospitalized at the New

York Polyclinic Hospital ().
