The Fox assured her a $500 wage a week, whether she played or not.
The studio reserved the right to renew the contract the following year.
Her salary would be $750 the second year, $1250 the 3rd year,
$1500 the 4th year, $2000 the 5th year and $2500 the 6th year.
A clause linked her to the studio for 7 years. She could be dismissed
without any explanation and the studio had the authority to impose a
role. She could also be "loaned" to another studio, by only giving her
the weekly wage.
Her contract started on May 11 and she obtained the appointment of her drama teacher, Natasha Lytess.
