She received an invitation () for the 30th gala of the "Union des artistes français" on March 4, 1960, but being in the middle of the production, Marilyn couldn't attend.
The production in Hollywood was blocked by a strike led by the American actors and authors union, against the movie studios and producers. The stake was the payment of an extra salary to the actors and the writers whose films were broadcasted on TV but only the studios received the benefit.
